Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Purori, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

Purori is an iOS application that helps knitters and crocheters import, parse, and follow knitting patterns. The app uses AI to convert pattern PDFs into structured, step-by-step instructions.

3. Accounts

You must create an account to use Purori. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You may delete your account at any time from Settings in the app.

4. Subscriptions and Usage Limits

Purori offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. Pro subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's terms. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings.

Free tier: up to 5 lifetime pattern imports, up to 5 active patterns at a time, and a 10 MB per-file size limit.

Pro tier: up to 30 pattern imports per calendar month, a 50 MB per-file size limit, and a recommended maximum of 150 pages per pattern. Patterns that materially exceed these limits may fail to parse or be rejected. Unused monthly imports do not roll over.

These limits may be adjusted over time to maintain service quality. Material reductions will be communicated in advance.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Purori for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Abuse the pattern parsing service (excessive automated requests, scraping, or attempts to extract model behavior)
• Upload patterns or other content that you do not personally own or that you do not have the right to upload and process under this section's terms
• Redistribute, resell, sublicense, share, or publicly post any pattern (original or parsed) obtained through Purori, including sharing parsed output with people who do not themselves hold a license to the underlying pattern
• Interfere with or disrupt the service

6. Your Content and Pattern Rights

Ownership. Purori does not claim ownership of the knitting or crochet patterns you upload. You retain all rights you already hold in your pattern content. The Purori app, its code, design, and branding are the property of Purori.

Your representations. By uploading a pattern, you represent and warrant that, for each pattern: (a) you are the copyright owner of the pattern, or (b) you have purchased or otherwise lawfully obtained a copy of the pattern and your use of Purori with that pattern is permitted by the pattern's license and applicable copyright law (e.g., personal-use copying or fair use), or (c) the pattern is in the public domain or you otherwise have all rights necessary to upload and have it processed by third-party AI providers.

Personal use only. Purori is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use of patterns you legally own or have rights to use. Parsed output is provided to you for your own knitting or crocheting use; you may not distribute parsed output to third parties or use it to circumvent the rights of a pattern's author.

License to operate the service. You grant Purori a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, transmit, and process your uploaded content solely as necessary to provide the service to you (including transmitting pattern text to third-party AI providers for parsing). Purori does not use your patterns to train AI models and does not share your patterns with other users.

7. Copyright Complaints (DMCA)

Purori respects the intellectual property rights of others and responds to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content available through Purori infringes your copyright, send a written notice to support@purori.co that includes:

• A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent
• Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
• Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and information sufficient to locate it
• Your address, telephone number, and email address
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf

Purori will respond to valid notices in accordance with the DMCA, including by removing or disabling access to allegedly infringing material and terminating accounts of repeat infringers where appropriate. Counter-notifications may be sent to the same address.

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Purori and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with (a) your access to or use of the service, (b) your content, including any pattern you upload, or (c) your violation of these Terms, including the representations in Section 6.

9. Disclaimer

Purori is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. AI-parsed patterns may contain errors. Always verify parsed instructions against your original pattern. Purori is not responsible for knitting outcomes based on parsed patterns.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Purori shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

11. Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of Purori after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
