Pricing
Last updated: May 17, 2026
Purori is built and run by one person. Here is exactly why it costs what it costs, and why the limits sit where they do.
Why a subscription, not a one-time purchase
Every pattern you import runs AI over the whole document, then a second pass over each section to pull out stitch counts, sizes, and structured rows. That AI cost is recurring. I pay it again every single time a pattern is parsed. A one-time price cannot cover an open-ended recurring cost, so the price model matches the cost model: a subscription.
Purori is also server-authoritative. Your parsed library is stored and re-served from the server, not just stored on one device, so it survives a lost phone and follows you to the next one. That is ongoing storage and compute, not a one-and-done.
What you are paying for
- AI on every parse. It reads your pattern's layout and never rewrites a word.
- Your library, hosted. Patterns persist server-side and re-sync across your devices, with row counts and notes.
- A real product, not a data business. No ads. I do not sell usage or pattern data. You are the customer, not the product.
Your patterns are never used to train AI
The AI providers Purori sends pattern text to (Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude) run on their paid commercial APIs, under terms that explicitly forbid training their models on your inputs. I do not use your patterns to train anything either, and I never share them with other users. Parsing your pattern into clear steps is the only thing your pattern is ever used for. Purori reads what a designer wrote so you can knit it. It is not here to replace them.
The fair-use cap, explained honestly
- Free — 5 imports, lifetime. Enough to genuinely evaluate the parser on your own patterns before paying anything.
- Pro — 30 imports per month. Covers heavy real-world use. The cap exists because each parse has a real, variable AI cost which can only be measured after the result is produced. Unused monthly imports do not roll over.
What makes the cap fair and not a paywall trick:
- A failed parse is refunded. A parse that errors out never burns a credit.
- Re-parsing a pattern you already imported is free. Tweak and re-run at no cost.
- The cap is a cost ceiling, not a teaser. It is set where runaway AI cost would otherwise sink the price, not where it nudges you toward a higher tier.
